• About

  Highland Road is a historic drive through the oldest part of Baton Rouge, LA. Its name comes from both its geographic position (high ground in the area) and also its original inhabitants known as the Dutch Highlanders, a group of German immigrant farmers whose cotton and indigo plantations still border the twisty two-lane which leads directly to the LSU campus.
  
  My name is David Surace. The greater part of my brain is obsessed with cars. My focus is car reviews and automotive culture in South Louisiana. A simple drive down Highland Road, with its graceful sweepers, blind curves and tree-lined canopies, is a fine acid test of a car's integrity, poise and presence.
